Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The Lake Town Police in Kolkata have apprehended Som Shubhra Bose, the director of an aviation organization, for his alleged involvement in a massive job fraud that duped unsuspecting individuals of crores of rupees under the pretext of providing employment opportunities at airports. While Bose is now in custody, the main accused in the case, Viplav Kumar Sinha Mohapatra, remains unfound, prompting the police to intensify their efforts to track him down.
The investigation into this elaborate job scam began when Sreeparna Roy, a resident of Shyamnagar Road, lodged a complaint at the Lake Town police station on June 23. According to police sources, Roy came across an advertisement on an online platform offering high-ranking job positions at various airports across the country. Intrigued by the opportunity, Roy contacted Talent Aviation Private Limited, the organization purportedly responsible for the job placements.
Following the initial contact, Roy underwent an interview process at the company's premises. However, things took a turn for the worse when Roy was asked to deposit money into different bank accounts at different intervals. Oblivious to the unfolding scam, Roy complied and ended up depositing approximately two lakh rupees into the organization's accounts. To Roy's dismay, despite fulfilling the monetary requirements, the promised job never materialized. It was only then that Roy discovered that numerous others had fallen victim to this fraudulent scheme.
Som Shubhra Bose was apprehended at Kolkata airport. The arrest of Bose sheds light on the intricate network involved in the job scam and provides investigators with valuable leads to unearth the full extent of the fraudulent operation.
